Social in Sixty

Welcome to Social in Sixty, Seed’s weekly roundup of what’s new in social.

Linkedin announces new content tools 🎨  - We are excited about the new content creation tools announced by Linkedin this week. Linkedin says it's seen a 20% year-over-year increase in people adding visual content in their posts on the platform.

Clickable links will be excellent for traffic to websites, event pages etc and new templates and carousels are on the way so that we can now mix video and static in posts! All great ways for you to deepen your comms on the platform.

Instagram's AI plans 🖥 - Algorithm-recommended content will increase to more than 30% of your feed by the end of 2023, it's currently around 15%. Your feed will increasingly be driven by AI recommending content that you may find interesting from across Facebook and Instagram, even if you don’t follow those creators. This is in line with the push for the creator economy and moving away from influencer-driven feeds.

Put a pin in it 📍 - Pinterest is an under-rated platform in many social media strategies and yet the opportunities are huge! While there are many places to buy online, shopping is an inspirational discovery-based experience critical to capture, especially online — an experience that Pinterest has mastered. Idea Ads could be worth a look, similar to Tiktok's Spark Ads, you can use creator and influencer partnerships to drive audience awareness and growth.
