Social in Sixty: TikTok Updates, #Deinfluencing and David Beckham's Honey Cake 🍯👀

Welcome to Social in Sixty with Seed Group. We're here to share some of the most important and our favourite social media updates from the last week. This week, we're talking exciting new TikTok updates, the latest influencing trends and David Beckham's very own Honey Cake 🍯

Editing TikToks is finally a thing! 👀

What a week it's been for TikTok updates! So let's break them down:

  • TikTok has FINALLY started rolling out an 'edit post' option so you can edit your videos after you've posted, so you no longer have to delete, amend and repost 🙌

  • A new option to save your TikTok without the watermark has also been spotted across some accounts. This will be a great feature to help repurpose your TikTok's across multiple channels.

Here's to more great updates to make TikTok more accessible in 2023 🎉

👂 Have you heard the latest 'deinfluencing' conversation that's been happening recently? If not, let's talk about it.

This is essentially a new movement seeing content creators encouraging their followers not to buy a product. The #deinfluencing hashtag has already gained 90M+ views on TikTok. This new way of influencing could be a positive step forward for the whole community as it promotes authenticity, encourages honesty and will hopefully encourage creators to be more selective about the brand deals they take on.

Instagram's Notes Feature 🗒

Has anyone noticed the new 'Notes' feature in their Instagram DMs? Some people are wondering exactly what they are and what they're for. They are essentially small post-it notes giving you 60 characters to leave updates for your close friends or mutual followers that last 24 hours.

Are you on board with this update, or is it just another thing we just don't need? 😅

David Beckham's Honey Cake Recipe 🍯

Here at Seed, we love predicting upcoming food trends, and you better head to the shops and pick up some honey as last Sunday, we saw David Beckham take to Instagram to share his very own Honey Cake recipe. Beckham was a little short on the details, so we suggest you try Waitrose's very own recipe linked below 👇
