Seeding Hope Through Social Media
As a B Corp social media agency, giving back to the community holds a special place in our hearts. We believe that using our skills and resources to support causes can make a significant impact. That's why we are thrilled to be partnering with Be More Frank, a remarkable charitable fund based in Herefordshire, affiliated with the Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust. In this blog post, we'll share an overview of why Be More Frank was established, what their goals are, and how we aim to help them grow awareness on social media.
The Story Behind Be More Frank
Be More Frank is a charitable fund that was founded by Emma and Eddie Cleal, in memory of their son, Frank. In 2019, at just 11 years old, Frank was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of childhood cancer. This diagnosis marked the beginning of a challenging journey for Frank and his family.
Frank's Fight
Despite the gruelling treatments and surgeries, Frank never lost his positive attitude. He went through intensive chemotherapy and limb salvage surgery, celebrating a significant milestone when he rang the 'end of treatment bell' at Birmingham Children's Hospital in March 2020. But as the world grappled with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Frank faced additional surgeries on his other leg, all while navigating the complexities of hospital visits and COVID restrictions.
Frank's indomitable spirit shone through as he returned to school in September 2020. His unwavering optimism and practical outlook on life inspired those around him, even during the toughest moments of his young life.
Sadly, Frank's cancer was diagnosed as incurable in February 2021. Rather than focusing on quantity, Frank chose a path that prioritised quality of life. He embarked on a bucket list journey, indulging in activities like quad bike riding, helicopter flights, supercar drives, and home cinema evenings.
Frank's Legacy
Frank was full of jokes and laughter throughout his whole cancer journey; he had a constant resilience and positive approach to life. His family carry his spirit forward by embracing every moment, being kinder and braver, and learning to #BeMoreFrank. Their mission is to help other families facing childhood cancer diagnoses by providing financial support to cover various expenses, including bills, hospital visits, parking, and food. This support allows families to spend more time with their children, focusing on their well-being rather than financial stress.
How Be More Frank Helps
Every penny raised by Be More Frank, whether through skydiving, wedding location auctions, marathons, or swimathons, is exclusively directed towards providing support grants to families in Herefordshire and Powys who have a child diagnosed with cancer.
