Celebrating Super Mums in The Workplace
Mother's Day is here and we want to celebrate super mums in the workplace. The last 12 months have definitely taken us all to places we'd rather not return, but the silver lining is we have shown that flexible working can be achieved and can improve the work/life balance. As a female-led agency and as parents ourselves this is a focus for us this year and ongoing.
During 2020 the whole team at Seed worked from home and we even recruited 7 new team members. Our plan ongoing is to embrace flexible and WFH whilst still ensuring office time that gives our whole team the support and creative environment to ensure we get the job done!
It's definitely all good for business too, new research from the UK government and jobs website Indeed suggests that offering flexible working roles can increase job applications by 30%. The government is also championing this approach and has called for a "national shift" to flexible working in order to boost productivity and open up more job opportunities to women and those living outside of major cities. Liz Truss, the UK Minister for Women and Equalities, said flexible-working arrangements should be made a standard option for UK workers, adding that doing so would help level-up the country while boosting both the productivity and morale of workers and it will no doubt help women.
For us, flexible work is a better way of working that could positively impact the career prospects of so many women, and we are happy with that.
