Snapchat is coming for BeReal and introducing a new dual camera mode - “With Dual Camera, Snapchatters can create content using their front and back-facing cameras simultaneously and also a choice of dual output formats.”

Besides the obvious new creative capacity for users, this could be a very interesting move for UGC. Brands can now invite more participation in different ways which could ignite some new trends.

Meta pushes for more video content! 

In case you hadn’t noticed, video content is taking over! 

In fact, video is Meta’s most engaging content format, occupying 50% of the time that people spend on Facebook and more than 20% of the total time that people spend on Instagram!

Meta has published a new overview of the key elements it factors into its video ranking algorithms: 

Originality - which aligns with Meta’s broader push to amplify original creators, and provide more exposure potential in its apps.

Capture and Retain Attention - Meta says that videos that capture the audience's attention and inspire people to watch to the end are likely to see increased distribution as a result.

Loyalty and Intent - Meta suggests that publishing bonus, unexpected content can help to keep your fans engaged and returning to your page.

Engagement - Meta prioritises content that sparks conversations and meaningful interactions between real people. 

Professional Twitter? 

Twitter tests new professional account options - they are adding new tools like variable link CTAs.

The new ‘Spotlight’ option and a customised ‘Link’ display, will let you choose from various CTAs for a prominent button on your profile page. Including a range of text options, could be a great way to drive more direct traffic from Twitter.
